It is not surprising that this majestic, prehistoric giant is steeped in superstition and legend. The wonderful African 'Tree of Life' can live four thousands of years and for all the world looks like it has been planted root-side up. The San people believe when the baobab tree is old and fully grown, it will disappear magically after falling to the ground.
